I will continue my readings of Greek tragedy and begin examining Greek history by taking on Herodotus. I will also examine pre-Greek history in the ideas stream (volume one of Durant) reading. For literature, I will begin Asimov’s Foundation series, and read the 2007 Giller prize winner. In non-fiction, I will finally read Romeo Dallaire’s book as well the classic modern philosophical work Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (two books that have been on my list for some time). In poetry, I will take a look at the epic of Gilgamesh, one of the oldest pieces of extant literature.
